Bible For Life is an introductory study of the scriptures,
similar in content to a university course, aimed at adults and
mature teenagers. The course is taken over 4 days (2 weekends),
discussing topics that build on each other towards a unified
understanding of the Bible. Each day is separate in itself, but
the four days are four parts of a whole - a holistic
understanding of the Bible in context. It's a revealing
combination of both "big picture" and "little picture"
perspectives. Not only will you understand the Bible better, you
will understand individual books, topics, themes & Bible
characters in greater detail then before.
Topics will cover both the Old & New Testaments and will be
taught by a variety of educators. |

The Bible is FOR LIFE – for
every stage of life, for children, young adults and less young
adults…
The Bible is for LIFE – life
that is rich and tasty and eternal and given by God…
The Bible is FOR life – for
living day by day, with guidance, inspiration
If that’s the case,
• Why is the Bible so hard to read?
• Why are its various bits so different?
• How can we base our faith on it if there are so many different
interpretations?
• How can ancient documents be helpful in our time, anyway?
If you have questions about the Bible that you would like
answered, or if you would like to become more confident in
opening its pages and finding out for yourself what God is
saying to you, this course can help.
What will this course do for you?
• You will learn the overall story of the Bible and how it can
help you live well
• You will gain in confidence as you read ancient writings
• You will explore some of the interesting themes that are found
in the Bible
• You will probably come away with a desire to read the Bible
more
• You will have fun in the life search for meaning and purpose
If you have responsibilities as a teacher or parent to help
people understand their faith, this course can help. We will go
quite a bit deeper than is normally possible in Bible studies or
home groups, but we are convinced that it is worth the effort,
because…
The Bible is for LIFE. Take this opportunity to get to
know it better.
There will be teaching sessions with the whole group, and some
in smaller groups with some choices of electives. You will need
to bring a Bible (the one you use most often), and writing
material if you want to take notes. There is no text book. You
may enroll for part of the course if you wish, but of course,
you will benefit most from full-time attendance.
There are no assignments or exams.
This is a course you really can't afford to miss! |
